CrossPATH® 4 Multi-Service Cell Site Aggregation
Wireless carriers are facing considerable pressures to grow existing networks while minimizing operational costs. An increase in new customers and technologies (3G and broadband services) are requiring capacity and bandwidth at base stations to increase. At the same time, cell site technicians are being asked to manage more locations while improving cell site uptime.
This is resulting in the need for radio access networking solutions to efficiently support today’s network while migrating to new technologies (IP, ATM, and high-speed TDM) for improved efficiency. Enhanced cell site management improves the efficiency of technicians due to faster problem resolution. Solving an issue (preferably remotely) before an outage occurs eliminates unnecessary downtime, ultimately creating even happier customers.
The CrossPATH 4 from Kentrox delivers high-capacity base station connectivity for the growth of existing networks and migration to next-generation packet-based wireless networks. This enables wireless providers to lower the cost of ownership, simplify the migration to IP or ATM networks, and easily manage its cell sites (remotely or onsite).
The CrossPATH 4 features:
- Compact design – 1 RU with 16 T1 CSUs and high-speed interfaces
- Embedded GUI – browser-based to dramatically simplify installation, configuration and network management
- Built-in reports – identify and diagnose current or potential problems
- T1 voltage monitoring – remotely monitor and display real-time T1 signal and voltage levels of each T1 port
- Diagnostics – built-in testing tools are easy-to-use for router tests, BERT, and loopbacks
- Integrated router – offers management flexibility and IP radio traffic support
- Easy backhaul migration - with a single device, easily migrate to IP, ATM, and Pseudo-wire packet-based radio access networks
