AAC System Controller / Extension Module
Residing in the front of slot 1, the System Controller contains the current version of AAC release 2.x software, which is required to configure and operate the AAC and its various modules.
The System Controller also includes:
- System clocking
- System management
- Self-test status LEDs
- Communication port configuration DIP switch
- System power-up options DIP switch
- Reset button
The Extension Module fits in the rear of slot 1, and adds an Ethernet port for system management access and a PCMCIA slot for configuration loading or backup.
In AACs running software version 3.0.0 and above, the System Controller and Extension Module are replaced by a single module, the Integrated System Controller (ISC).
