The 296 line card is a 16 port, high speed line card that provides flexible connectivity to equipment serial ports for enhanced remote management. The 296 greatly eases integration of network elements to existing and new generation operation support systems (OSS) and provides network elements and OSS with a seamless migration to IP, saving hardware and software costs. It also allows “any to any” protocol mediation and aggregation.
