Kentrox Introduces the Remote RMB-2
Providing additional site management capabilities
COLUMBUS, OHIO – January 26, 2011 – Kentrox®, Inc., an innovator of site monitoring, management, and control solutions, announces immediate availability of the Remote RMB-2 for enhanced site management. The Remote suite of products enables customers (wireless operators, wireline service providers, utilities, transportation, etc.) to reduce operational expenses by enabling virtual truck rolls and proactive maintenance, ultimately improving technician efficiency and network availability.
The Remote RMB-2 is the newest addition to the Remote family of products for remote site management, joining the Remote RMX-3200, Remote RMM-1400, Remote RMM-1200, and the Remote RMB-1 to support a wide range of sites. The Remote RMB-2 and the recently introduced Remote RMB-1 provide more than 80 I/O ports to support the Remote RMX-3200 and Remote RMM-1400. The RMX-3200 monitoring and control device resides at remote locations, providing enhanced site management, alarm monitoring and diagnostics, and flexible IP network connectivity. The Remote RMM-1400 device is designed for small sites or locations where a limited number of systems require integration.
The Remote RMB-2 connects to the RMX-3200 and RMM-1400 via Ethernet to provide alarm, sensor, and control interfaces for site management. The RMB-2 also receives power from the RMX-3200 and RMM-1400 over this single Ethernet connection (Power over Ethernet Class 4), simplifying site cabling and installation. The rack-mountable RMB-2 supports both dry and pre-wetted alarm contacts.
